In summary, our modern lifestyle is making us ill!

The good news is that small changes can make a big difference to health and longevity.

Lifestyle Medicine

So what is lifestyle medicine?

Lifestyle medicine is a medical approach that focuses on supporting you to make behaviour changes to prevent, treat and sometimes reverse chronic lifestyle-related illnesses. These illnesses include heart disease, diabetes, obesity, some cancers and depression.

Lifestyle medicine focuses on 6 main areas.  These are sleep, movement, food, healthy relationships, managing stress and minimising harmful substances.

Lifestyle medicine isn’t about judging or blaming you for your situation.  Nor is it about preaching to you about how you should live or behave. Who am I to judge and preach?!

I have been a doctor for more than 20 years and have completed the British Society of Lifestyle Medicine diploma.  I have learned, in detail, about the evidence about what is and is not good for health.  As a result of what I have learned, I have made changes to my own life and I am much happier and healthier for it.  I want to share my knowledge and experience to help you find the healthy habits you enjoy and make them stick.

I particularly enjoyed learning how to make small changes in daily life and getting lots of book recommendations to read at leisure
